On December 29th, Hard CORE Motorcycle Ministry and Christian Heritage Church (both organizations of Amarillo, Texas) had the honor in joining with Iron Soldiers Motorcycle Club to honor a Father and Mother who lost their in son, Marine SSgt. David Ries, in combat. SSgt. Ries was killed in Afghanistan on November 8, 2004 while serving on his second tour.
Amarillo’s professional hockey team allowed all the groups to take the Ries’ out on the ice and present them with a poem written just for their son. It was a very moving moment for all in attendance, and Mom wept as they exited.
The Freedom Bike ‘preached’ the message of our Christian freedom and American freedom as it sat in their booth. Before the crowd departed, the announcer encouraged people who did not have a church to consider visiting Christian Heritage – what an outreach to the community!
