Dare to Believe Shares Hope at Easter

While most people were putting on their new Sunday outfits this past Easter, one church was donning leather and revving up their bikes.

Dare to Believe Ministries in Sweetwater, Texas attended a local motorcycle rally and spend Easter weekend ministering to the unchurched in their community. “The power of God was moving even though we weren’t in the church house!” said Pastor Dennis Hartley.

The church blessed about 40 bikes during the weekend. A “biker blessing” is a prayer of saftey, blessing, and guidance over the rider and motorcycle. Hartley said the team anointed riders with oil, and that several individuals asked for prayer for personal needs as well. “Most of these folks never have people pray for them because they don’t go any place where prayer is offered,” said Hartley.

Hartley also presented an Easter message Sunday morning. He said they had a record number of people attend this year’s service. At the alter call, 21 people came forward for prayer.

“This is an awesome way of seeing Mission:M25 in action,” said M25 director Gary Burd. “We are not just out riding motorcyles – we’re doing Kingdom business.”

  • Dear Dennis & Doris:

Thanks for your obedience and wonderful outreach. God will continue that work which He has begun through your ministry. Blessings.

  • Thanks for leaving the walls of the church and for being the Church in the community. What would Jesus do? Just what you folks did Easter Sunday. He would take the Gospel to the streets. That is what He would do.
