Well, Day 2 of a ten day trip is done. We are very blessed to have covered over 400 miles on our journey today. For the most part it was cool and sun shining, a little windy at times but it was a great ride. One of the crazy things about being at the back of the pack where we ride on this run is our fuel mileage. The wind has caused the platoon in front of us to drive slow – 50 mph. So, I got 58 mpg today on my bike – that is crazy good.
The day started out so special, it was just an eye awakening opening in our meeting. A veteran came forward and read the list of three young soldiers killed yesterday in battle. I took the microphone, asked for a moment of silence, and then led the crowd in a prayer. I have never felt any greater anointing as I prayed this morning. Then Chaplain Moore led the crowd in a very emotional pledge to our flag. I am so honored to be included in this great event. God has been so good to allow people to furnish our team with the resources needed to go across this country for this great cause. A man we call Sidewalk gave me a cross painted in Red, White and Blue. He said, ‘that pretty much tells it all’. Sidewalk goes to the street and has church with people who would never go to church…just one awesome man.
Please see the picture of Duct Tape and Sweetness that is attached. The doctors told him there were eleven reasons why he should not be alive after his motorcycle wreck late last year. I replied, “But there is one great reason you are” and he looked up and thanked the Lord. He stood in front of the crowd and gave honor to the Lord and his wife for him being alive today – a very emotional moment.
Do pray for us, we did have an accident today, but the man seems to be okay. They are keeping him overnight for observation. Chaplain Wes Alvarez is staying back to be with him until the family arrives. We are just so thankful that the rider is not seriously injured and that Wes will be able to return to our ranks in the morning.
The courtesy meals, fuel, and so much love is sometimes a little overwhelming as we travel across this great country. The more I spend on the roads of the USA, the more thankful I am to live here. May we never get so involved in the ‘stuff’ that is negative about the USA that we forget to be thankful for allowing us to live here.
Thanks for following us and please keep us in your prayers.
