“Slam Dunk” — Run For The Wall — Chaplain Jerry Jones, Army and IPHC did just that on Sunday morning, May 20, 2012 at Grand Prairie, TX.
Mission:M25 was honored to have Chaplain Jones come from Ft. Sill, OK. He shared with us the soldiers in the New Testament, Soldiers of Faith, Confession and Vision. He absolutely connected with many of the men and women standing in the parking lot of Wal-Mart. There were men coming up and asking for prayer, weeping and hugging on us. One man who never came close to us, listened from a far, came and said, ‘The Chaplain got me thinking, I will talk to you later.’
We were concerned about a crowd showing up due to the fact we were not in the host hotel parking lot (as usual). Riders had to go across the interstate early in the morning to be involved. We were pleasantly surprised by the crowd that was present. One rider rode up and realized what was going on and immediately cut his engine.
Pastor John Howard, First Church, Goldsboro, NC did an awesome job of worship with the guitar. We enjoyed the moments together as we lifted the name of the Lord. He led us in ‘Open The Eyes of Our Heart’ – focus on me. Then followed with Jesus our Messiah – focus on Him. We repeated the focus on Jesus song and you could sense the awareness of His divine presence.
We had a great ride and enjoyed a beautiful day filled with great Patriots, standing on the overpasses, sides of the street, etc cheering as we rode by. We all remember that we “Ride For Those Who Can’t”. When we ride in and people are expressing their appreciation – our place is to say, ‘FOR THOSE WHO CAN’T’. It is an incredible honor to be allowed to fill that place.
