“Operation Bless a Family” sees largest participation

“OBAF” Motorcycle Toy Run in Saint Pauls  ‘largest ever’ in its history

Toys, toys and more toys were turned over to families by the “HardCore” Motorcycle Club and motorcyclists Saturday Dec. the 8th during the “Operation Bless a Family” 7th annual Toy Run.

The event included at least nearly 100 motorcycles, one club member said. The riders traveled across Robeson County blessing families with toys and gifts from the following cities Fairmont, Rowland, Prospect, Shannon, Parkton and Saint Pauls.

“It’s fantastic,” said Club President Terry Long. “There are unofficially one hundred motorcycles, and we were told they stretched nearly one mile long if not longer.”

Former M/C president and founder  Tim Blackburn, who remains closely affiliated with the organization after 7 years at the helm, said the toy run was the largest one he’d ever seen. “This is a tremendous outpouring from the community and proof that Robeson County alone with Other Counties once again came together to help these families have a Christmas to remember. This is awesome.”

Its success is attributed to pleasant weather, the large number of motorcycle riders, and the compassion of people who give to the event each year, he said.

The event included a 75 mile run, 50/50 drawings, door prizes, auction and a meal for all that attended the event.

“We’re going to be able to take care of those in need,” Long said. “And the money that is donated will allow the M/C to assist others thought-out the year. It’s a huge, huge blessing to our Ministry when we know folks support us which in return helps us buy toys and gifts for these families in need.”

The run is hosted by the HardCore M/C Chapter Based out of “The Life Center church” in Saint Pauls, North Carolina.  Motorcycle riders associated with several different motorcycle clubs in the area, and motorcycle tourists, hobbyists, enthusiasts,  united this year to ride and support  in the event as well.
